Facial Surgery makes you feel Young

A face lift is plastic surgery that essentially tightens the skin on the face in muscle directions that gives a natural, youthful look, and enables a person to appear younger than their actual age. A complete face lift involves stretching and tightening of the forehead, temporal and medium part of face as well as the neck. This surgery enables a "loss" of 10 years in age. Muscles are lifted and tightened, as well as the skin on the face and neck. The scar is hidden behind the ear and under the hair. It is possible to combine a face lift with other facial cosmetic interventions, such as dermabrasions, Botox injections, fillers, and fat implants in cheeks and chin.

When to Choose a Face Lift
Every individual faces the aging process, sooner or later. This unflattering process is particularly evident on our face, no matter how much we invest in cosmetic to preserve a youthful and fresh appearance. Aging manifests itself through sagging facial skin, lasing fat tissue in the cheeks and the formation of lines from the nose to the mouth (nasal-labial wrinkle) as well as formation of wrinkles around lips and in the region of the lower jaw. Face aging is followed by aging of the neck skin and muscles; this is a combined process that happens on all structures. Time leaves evidence, unavoidable marks, when nothing can help: fillers, Botox injections or surgery on the eyelids if you are over 45 years of age—this is when only a face lift will yield successful results in erasing signs of aging.

Around the age of 45, is the general age when a face lift is recommended but that isn't written in stone—for some individuals, aging starts sooner, facilitated by certain factors, such as natural skin characteristics, lifestyle (diet, alcohol, smoking), and of course, genetics.

Types of Face Lifts

A face lift can be done on one area of your face or on the entire face.

A midface lift involves “lifting” (tightening) the medium area of face. This plastic surgery is a good choice for younger patients as well as those who want faster recovery. This surgery helps with aging on the medium region of the face, particularly the sagging of cheeks, under the lower eyelid and above upper lip.

A face lift (Rhytidectomia) involves the lifting and tightening of 2/3 of the lower face area and neck, diminishing the deep face lines that stretch from nose to the corners of the mouth, and removal of fat tissue on the edge of the lower jaw. This is done through the removal of excessive skin and the tightening of muscles. Recovery is longer after this surgery, but the result is a refreshed, younger and more attractive face.

How is a Face Lift Performed?
This plastic surgery is performed under total anesthesia, and the patient goes home the next day. Generally, the incision starts deep in the temporal area, moving toward ear, going behind it and along hair on the neck. After the incision, the skin is lifted in the area of the cheeks, lower jaw, and neck, and the muscles of face are tightened and lifted to oppose the direction of gravity. Excessive skin is then removed, and surgical threads are placed. After surgery has been finished, bandages are placed around face and they are removed after 24 hours.

After face lift surgery, the patient will feel pain and discomfort in the area of the face and neck for 48-72 hours, and swelling will be present for 7-10 days.
A face lift can also be performed with ultrasound, with the effect as good as in traditional surgery.
After this type of face lift, the recovery lasts from 7 to 15 days, which gives the patient more satisfaction because with fast results also comes a shorter recovery period.
